Sodium Citrate

Sodium citrate is functional as a sodium salt of citric acid. This crystalline powder has white color and granular crystals. It is somewhat deliquescent in moist air and is easily soluble in water. This chemical is insoluble in alcohol. It is available with a sour taste and on medical ground, utilized as an effective alkalinizing agent. Sodium citrate is known well for neutralizing excess acid in the urine and blood. This is known well for the effective treatment of metabolic acidosis.
